Enough of "Not Enough"


Hey, beautiful! Self-acceptance is a long journey, but if you are reading this, you are already closer to achieving your goal. Congratulations!


I know how it hurts. I know how devastating it can be. I know, because I was struggling with self-acceptance for the past 10 years but it is a battle I won. I am sharing my experience, so you can win your battle, too.


Let me start by telling you: I was never confident about myself. I had horrible face acne. I was not satisfied with the reflection in the mirror. I was scared to talk to people because I thought they would not like me. I could not befriend myself and could not believe I deserved the best. So what did I do to change this?


Gaining Knowledge


I spent a lot of time reading different kinds of books about confidence, productivity, networking, first impressions - anything that could potentially put me on the right track. I wish I had had a guidebook like Unleash Today at that time. Lucky you, you can now find everything you need to know in just one place. I also listened to dozens of podcasts, spent hours on YouTube, and eventually rewinded my brain to success. Some books that helped me were "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less" by Greg McKeown and "Edgy conversations: how ordinary people achieve outrageous success" by Dan Waldschmidt. I can also recommend the podcast "Positive Mindset Podcast" by Henry G, and my favourite YouTube channel "The Mindful Movement" with the best meditations.



Finding my Tribe


When I was 18, I got accepted to the University of Moscow. I was excited but it was a huge “inner culture shock”. I told myself I only was a small town girl and could not handle big city life very well. However, instead of getting even more depressed, I realised it was time to act. I signed up for workshops and different activities for students. I started making my network in a new city. I realised there were so many good people who liked and appreciated me. I was becoming more social and voicing my opinion more often. This is when I started to build confidence internalised what an interesting person I really am!


Taking Care of my Body


I also started working on my physical appearance. This included going to doctors to cure acne, getting a gym membership and buying self-care items I previously thought were such a waste of money. I purchased beautifully smelling and slightly more expensive body scrubs, different hair masks and other small things that I would not have bought for myself before. This helped a lot. You should treat yourself once in a while!


Working on my Inner Self


This was the most important part of dealing with my self-acceptance issues, I know today. I created a routine with gratitude journaling and morning pages journaling. I studied the law of attraction, a theory based on the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into your life, and created a vision board. Slowly, I started being thankful for each experience I gained in life and began perceiving mistakes as learning experiences. I took on meditations and became a more spiritual person.


Remember that you have only one life. Stand up for what is important to you, live to the fullest and be thankful for every moment. Accept yourself - this is a very powerful mode that can lead you to the highest heights. You lead the way, Unleash Today!
